Gemma’s interest in the human-animal bond and her passion for helping others led her to create Patient Paws Animal Assisted Education and Therapy.

 

Working as an Animal Technician and Research Assistant for a number of years, Gemma furthered her studies in Psychology, Animal Assisted Therapy and Teaching to pursue her passion of working and caring for people and animals.  

 

Gemma’s background in Animal Handling and Behaviour, Psychology and Teaching along with her gentle, caring and relaxed nature leads to positive outcomes with her clients.




George

Gorgeous George

George is a Golden Retriever who loves life and his work.  With a wagging tail and a smile on his face George greets all of his clients with a warm friendly hug. 


George is able to approach his work day in a relaxed and calm manner after enjoying his favourite down-time activities that include swimming in the creek, rough and tumbling with his fur buddies and lazing about with his family.


George has graduated from his Therapy Dog course and trains weekly so that he can continue to provide he best possible service to all people he meets.

Hugo

Handsome Hugo

Hugo is a Miniature Schnauzer and is loving learning all that is involved in being a Therapy Dog. Hugo loves to work with his big brother George and does a wonderful job helping clients in aged care, residential care and primary schools. 

Hugo has loads of personality and clients love his cheeky side. He particularly likes working with children and has a sweet and gentle manner when working with our young clients.

Hugo's just loves learning new tricks and always waves goodbye to his clients.


Formal Education

  • Completed the Professional Dog Trainers Course alongside Gemma as a Demo dog.
  • Weekly training.
  • Regular Vet Checks.






Stanley 

Stanley is a super friendly boy who just LOVES to love! He thinks the world is pretty amazing and brings joy to all he meets.


Stanley approaches everything he does with a smile on his face and a whole bundle of enthusiasm. He is eager to please and is happy to give anything a try.


Stanley's favourite thing to do is give hugs.

Willow

Willow is a sweet girl who loves being around people all day. She spends much of her time hanging out at school with students.

She knows when someone needs some 'calm' and when it's time to play and takes good care of everyone she meets.

Willow just loves swimming and going for a swim and approaches all she does with a calm and loving manner.

Gabby

Gabby is a Bachelor qualified Counselor and provides a mobile canine-assisted counseling service across Melbourne.
